Abbey McCulloch's work is timeless, classical, effortless and charming. I can't help but gaze into ever single little sketch with curiosity of a two year old - they invoke such a sense of reality and raw talent. Abbey hails from the east coast of Australia and is a 'self-confessed magazine addict'... we have two things in common already! The images I've chosen to feature are from one of her collaborations with big-time fashion publication, RUSSH (I don't read regularly, not really my style), entitled Draw - Lost Models.
Abbey says of this work - 'I was thinking about these models and where they disappeared to, one moment they were everywhere and now? Some women are timeless and defy any sense of expiration - I’m interested in what makes this so. These are a sort of ghostly homage to not only these individuals but to the line between 'disposable' and 'icon'.'
And this last one? Makes me laugh because it truly reminds me of me. This is usually what I wear around the house. Makes for a scramble when unexpected guests drop round, but dressed this way, I truly feel comfortable!
